When MicrobiologyOpen is going to launch its first issue?

    • November 2, 2011 11:58 am

MicrobiologyOpen will publish continuously, meaning that as soon as an article is accepted and formatted for publication it’s posted online in EarlyView. To enhance user experience we will compile these articles into regular issues. MicrobiologyOpen is set to launch its first issue March 2012.

Thanks. What do you expect about its impact factor? For example, Microbiology has current impact factor 2.957. Microbiology Open will be better than Microbiology?

MicrobiologyOpen is a new open access journal that has just been launched. Because of this, it does not yet have an impact factor, but we will begin the process to be listed by the Web of Science and have an impact factor calculated as soon as possible. It is difficult to predict what the impact factor will be, but the journal has partnered with several of Wiley’s other top journals in the field that will refer papers to MicrobiologyOpen, and the average impact factor of those journals is approximately 3.05.
